Born on 24 October 1985, Wayne Rooney is a British football manager and former player who spent much of his career as a forward. Rooney rose to global football glory when he was very young; he made his first professional appearance with his local club Everton aged 16.
After two years playing for Everton, he transferred to Manchester United in the summer of 2004. Rooney was just 18, and the transfer fee was the greatest amount ever paid for a teenager in the world at the time.
As of 2022, ex-pro footballer and previous England national team member Wayne Rooney’s net worth is estimated at around the £100 million ($136m) to £120 million ($163m) mark based upon his career earnings until now (according to goal.com). When at Manchester United, Rooney was apparently given a base salary of £250,000 a week that later rose to £300,000.
Wayne Rooney has beaten other famous footballers to be named the greatest England player of all time over a 15 year worldwide career. More recently, Rooney has made the headlines for the ‘Wagatha Christie’ case, involving his wife Coleen and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.
Rooney, 36, and his family are set to move into an enormous newly developed £20 million residence on 50 acres of former farmland. The newly built property is said to have an “outstanding location in the golden triangle.” Rooney also has a magnificent car collection, with his motors including a Bentley and an Aston Martin Vanquish.
