What happens when two generations collide on the dancefloor?

You know that feeling when the beat drops in the club? Goosebumps, adrenaline, and that instant urge to sprint to the dancefloor? Turns out every generation knows that feeling.

And that’s exactly what BACARDÍ is tapping into: the idea that music, movement and good vibes don’t belong to one era.

To prove it, they paired up two different generations, Gen Z and Boomers: two ravers and two cocktail legends, swapping stories from the dancefloor and behind the bar. And what they found is pretty simple: nightlife might look different today, but the core feeling hasn’t changed at all.

Take bartending. Salvatore Calabrese - a true icon who started mixing drinks in swanky hotel bars in the 60s (yes, in a full white tux) - built his whole craft on the relentless pursuit of flavour and connecting with people. Fast-forward to today: cocktail culture has changed massively. It’s more accessible, more experimental, and has expanded way beyond exclusive hotel bars. But the classics? They’re still going strong.

Salvatore’s timeless Daiquiri is proof. It’s all about letting BACARDÍ shine - the rum that inspired some of the world’s most famous cocktails like the Daiquiri, Mojito and Cuba Libre for over 100 years. A true “great” that outlives trends while still inspiring new ones.

On the flip side, Gen Z rising star Anna King - winner of Best Emerging Bartender award - brings a completely different energy. Their Carrot Highball blends BACARDÍ rum, carrot juice and ginger kombucha for a bright, fiery twist that feels totally now. Old-school finesse meets new-school creativity, and it’s just… exciting.

Meanwhile, over a classic BACARDÍ & Coke, an 80s club kid and a Gen-Z raver shared stories on nightlife. One remembers the freeing feeling of losing herself in the music on a sweaty dancefloor, finding new music and new friends in the club, and dancing like no one was watching. The other lives in a world where new tracks drop hourly, social media choreos have replaced letting loose on the dancefloor, and phones are basically part of the outfit.

But when the music hits, both generations move the same way: fully present, fully in the moment.

Since 1862, BACARDÍ has stood for that freedom: doing what moves you, dancing without judgment, and connecting generations through shared energy.

And now, as one of the OGs of cocktail and dancefloor culture, BACARDÍ is on a mission to get Gen Z back on the dancefloor and moving with the freedom felt by previous generations - to feel the goosebumps, the connection, and the joy that only happens when the beat drops and you let go.
