Olivia Attwood's reason for leaving I'm A Celebrity explained for first time

Olivia Attwood's reason for leaving I'm A Celebrity explained for first time

The reason has been revealed.

Olivia Attwood's reason for leaving the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! jungle has been revealed.

Earlier in the week, the Love Island finalist said farewell to the camp after spending just a day in the Australian jungle.

While the reason hasn't been disclosed, it was confirmed by Ant and Dec that Olivia had left on medical grounds.

"Olivia Attwood has left the jungle for medical reasons and sadly won't be returning," said Dec.

Meanwhile Ant added: "She does feature in tonight's show which was filmed before she had to leave. We're very sad to see her go and we wish her well."

According to The Sun, after leaving camp for medical reasons, Olivia was unable to re-enter due to having broken the covid bubble.

To re-join, she would apparently need to spend another week in isolation.

An insider said: “It was felt this would be too much time to spend away from the competition and potentially place her campmates at a disadvantage to her.

“Obviously viewers at home couldn’t include her in any votes, including selecting them for different challenges during the series.

"Olivia would have been going back in almost halfway through the series, which simply wasn’t fair.

“As frustrating and upsetting as that was for Olivia, who was willing to do whatever it took to go back, she could also see it was an impossible situation.”

LADbible has reached out to ITV for comment.

It's not clear why Olivia had to leave camp, but in a statement released by her loved ones on Monday, it was revealed that Olivia would reveal 'the truth' soon.

Taking to Instagram, Olivia's loved ones wrote on her behalf: "To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement, she dreamed of doing I'm a Celeb for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).

"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short.

"Your support and kind words have meant the world to her now as much as it always has.

"You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year."

They added: "PS. Who's going to roast Matt Hancock now?"

A later Instagram post also clarified that Attwood didn't leave the jungle for Covid-related reasons, as she had to exit on medical grounds but couldn't re-enter due to Covid restrictions.

The unfortunate news comes after reality TV fans saw Olivia make history as the first former Islander to make their way into the jungle in the opening episode.
