Woman says she looks like Frodo Baggins after getting haircut

Woman says she looks like Frodo Baggins after getting haircut

Annie McElvein from Queenstown, South Island, said that she hopes to one day meet Elijah Wood.

A woman reckons she looks exactly like Frodo from Lord of the Rings after trying something new at her hairdresser.

Ah, we’ve all been there: we try to reinvent ourselves, and we walk away from the chair feeling less than satisfied.

We wanted to capture an inner Yoncé; however, our hairstylist ensured we resembled more of a portobello mushroom.

Unfortunately for 25-year-old Annie McElvein, she has found herself in a similar predicament after getting a fresh cut.

However, hers has made her look like one of the most beloved cinematic characters in history.

As soon as the curly-haired young woman from from Queenstown, South Island, debuted her latest do, she couldn't help but realise she looked exactly like the son of Drogo Baggins.

I mean, look at the pics, it’s truly uncanny.

Luckily, McElvein is a fan of the franchise, as the environmental student said: “I just thought it would be fun to have bangs and ended up looking like Frodo Baggins.

“I didn't ask to look like him, but I'm not upset about it.”

She continued: “I'm a huge Lord Of The Rings fan so when I noticed I was like 'hell yeah!'

“When I say I'm the biggest Lord Of The Rings fan, I mean I can spend hours a day watching videos on YouTube.

“It's what I talk about at parties.

“I hope maybe Elijah [Wood] sees I look just like him.

“I would love to meet him - maybe he'd want to meet me.”

If there’s ever the possibility of a sequel and the actor doesn’t sign on, McElvein could just take his spot.

At the very least, play his stunt double.

However, the 25-year-old, who is also an avid TikTok creator, has had followers say she resembles a number of different famous people - not just the hobbit of the Shire.

One user said: “Jennifer Grey is that you?!”

Apparently, no one puts Frodo in the corner.

Another wrote: “It’s giving Shinjin from Victorious.”

A third person shared: “Dirty Dancing/Ferris Bueller’s sister, but either way 100 per cent 80s.”

Another said: “Hear me out, Bernard from the Santa Claus movie.”

While another user commented: “It’s giving '90s basketball player.”

Throw in Lord Farquaad, and I'd say these observations are pretty spot on.
