Move over Spotify Wrapped, because YouTube has launched its very own Recap feature to share what you've been watching all year long.
While it's quite fun to have a nosy at what everyone is listening to when they walk down the street or workout in the gym with their headphones in, a person's YouTube history is very telling.
Now, the platform has launched its Recap feature, which offers detailed insights into your entire yearly viewing history, whether you're into DIY videos, influencer vlogs or Ms Rachel — fellow parents, I'm looking at you.
YouTube says the function will 'uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year, based on your watch history'.

“You’ll get a set of up to 12 different cards that spotlight your top channels, interests, and even the evolution of your viewing habits, or which personality type you fall into based on the videos you loved to watch," the platform said in a press release announcing the new feature.

“After digging into how we all watch YouTube, we didn’t just see data — we saw personalities, from the Adventurer or Skill Builder, to the Creative Spirit, and so many more."
Where can I find my YouTube Recap?
All you need to do is head to the website or app and make sure you're signed into your account. Then you can click on the 'You' tab, and you should see a banner that says 'Your Recap is here' just below your profile details.

You can simply click on the banner, but if that doesn't work, you can also head to youtube.com/Recap from your browser.
If you're browsing YouTube from the US, you should already be able to access your Recap, but the rest of the world should receive theirs sometime this week.

There are a few stipulations to accessing YouTube Recap in that you must be aged 13 or above, or meet the age requirement in your country as any accounts belonging to children under this age are supervised accounts and are ineligible.
It's also worth knowing that if you've deleted any of your viewing history or you had auto-delete settings on, they won't count towards your recap.

Although, YouTube has offered more simplistic versions of the Recap for the last three years, this is the first time the platform will offer highly detailed insights into your interests and viewing habits built over the past 12 months.
