Dad jokes are arguably the best kind of jokes. They're absolutely woeful plays on words that in no way should be funny but are so terrible that it actually goes full circle and becomes hilarious.
In fact the best dad joke I've ever heard, personally, was from my own dad one day when me and my brothers were arguing in the living room.
One of my brothers is called Constantine which we naturally shortened to Con. While the argument escalated, my eldest brother started getting a bit shirty and personal to which Con said: "Stop being so condescending!"
My father had been sat silently throughout this argument staring at the television but upon hearing those words depart my brother's lips, he coolly turned to us and said, "No, you walking down the stairs is condescending." - to which even Con couldn't help but piss himself laughing about.
It put into motion a theory I've had since that day that my dad named his son, my brother, Constantine with the hope of shortening it to Con so he could deliver that line should the opportunity ever arise. And boy did he take it when it came.
Anyway, I had to share that story with you because I never thought an opportunity outside of telling it to family members and friends who know my dad would arise.
Which leads me on to the Jess' dad's joke, which was equally as horrifyingly bad and hysterically funny as my own father's joke.

Hats off to dads everywhere for saying the most basic and stupid shit just to make us laugh.
