In case you hadn't noticed yet, today is the royal wedding, which means the entire world has gone down with a severe does of regal mania.

Yes, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry said their vows and got hitched, till death do they part and all that.

While many of the news reports and social media outbursts are singing the praises of this momentous occasion, there's one person who's got a very different take on the whole thing and that person is none other than comedian and all round Scottish savage Frankie Boyle.

As one of the last people on earth you'd want live-tweeting your big day, the bearded Scotsman did just that with a series of burns on the event.

As you'd imagine, his comments are as cutting as ever. Never one to shy away from controversy, at the time of writing he's made statements including, "Poverty becoming history, slavery, and love, all bad things to mention in this room," and, "This looks so like a human sacrifice."

He's also controversially retweeted one user's comment that states, "It's fun to guess where all the snipers are."

Yikes! Of course, none of this comes as a surprise. Frankie has already made it clear what his views on the royal wedding are.

Speaking on the BBC series New World Order, the comedian said: "Meghan Markle will become the Duchess of Sussex, that's got to hurt. You grow up wanting to be a princess and you end up sounding like a pub in Eastbourne."

He also took aim at the more historic traditions of the royal family, stating: "It's going to be a traditional wedding. Something old, Prince Philip, something new, the royal baby, something borrowed, the wealth of India. And something blue, the Queen's feet."

No holds barred. Are we surprised? Absolutely not.
