Team GB won their first medal last night after Adam Peaty won the 100 metre breaststroke.

The 21-year-old smashed the world record time of 57.13 seconds as well as beating his own personal record and became the first British male to win an individual gold swimming medal since 1988.

However, his nan stole the show after staying up late to watch him over here in Britain.

His 74-year-old nan, Mavis Williams, dubbed herself the #OlympicNan and has been cheering him on via the very modern medium of Twitter.

She is absolutely loving it.

Her very typical nanna behaviour seemingly struck a chord with her thousands of followers, as they rushed to congratulate her and her grandson following his win.

In fact, even Google got in on it.

BBC Newsbeat also managed to capture the moment she found out he'd won...

What a legend.
