The days are getting shorter, our knitwear is coming out of storage, and we’re already plotting to cancel plans when Friday night comes around. It can only mean one thing: cosy season is upon us.

But the cold snap can be a welcome change, not to mention a great excuse to go shopping in the search of things to make your home feel snug.

From slower cookers and hot water bottles to fresh bedding, Dunelm has everything you need to get your home ready for cosy season without breaking the bank. Here are our favourite picks...

1. Hot water bottle

Nothing says autumn quite like a hot water bottle. Whether youwant to elevate your morning lie-in or need something to keep you cosy working from home, the Cable Knitted Hot Water Bottle is a good investment.

It’s made from a cosy knit material that will make getting up on a morning even more difficult. We like the olive colour, it’ll look good in any room.

2. Teddy electric blanket

If you haven’t had an electric blanket before, now's the time to invest. The Teddy Electric Blanket will change your sleep game with a reversible shearling-style covering that will keep you toasty all night long.

Don’t worry, it’s machine washable too.

3. Cosy marle throw

We can’t get enough of Dunelm's new Teddy Collection. Case in point: the Cosy Marle Throw. If you haven’t had time to bag a new winter duvet yet, this is a great place to start.

Made from a heavyweight fabrication with one textured side and one velvet side, it’s another reason to stay home this weekend. The reviews agree, too. One happy customer wrote: “So soft and warm, it feels luxurious. The only problem is, they’re so comfortable you may end up falling asleep without meaning to!” Say no more.

4. Teddy bear cushion

Never underestimate the power of a good cushion. Sure to make your living room feel cosy in no time, the Teddy Bear Cushion is made from a soft, fluffy fabric that will elevate Netflix viewing parties.

There are six colours available, but the blush and olive green feel most autumnal. The cushion has received a lot of love online with happy customers praising the product for its comfort and affordability. One wrote, “So comfy and snuggly, the clues in the name.” Another added: “Soft, comfortable, and plump! Worth every penny.” It’s machine washable too just in case you needed another reason to purchase.

5. Soft cotton bedding

The 100% cotton Soft and Cosy Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set does what it says on the box with hundreds of positive reviews. Customers are really happy with one feature in particular - it doesn’t crease easily. One wrote, “This duvet washes and dries really nicely, and hardly gets any creases.”

Another agreed, adding: “Creases seem to drop out as well, so I haven't needed to iron them and look smooth a few days later. Love it.”

6. Slipper mules

If you’re after a new pair of slippers, we’ve got you. The Buckle Mules are designed for indoor and outdoor use with a fluffy interior to keep toes toasty.

At just £12, customers are impressed. One wrote, “These are the best slippers ever! Great fit, cosy, good soles, and great price! Never want to take them off!” Another agreed, writing: “Smarter than a slipper for wearing around the house, with the added benefit of a rubber sole. They look far more expensive than the price paid.”

7. Chalkboard slow cooker

Winter smells like a slow-cooked dinner and the Chalkboard Slow Cooker will give you something to look forward to when it starts getting dark at 4pm.

With a three-litre capacity and removable ceramic cooking pot, it’s easy to use and just as easy to clean. And at £20, it won’t break the bank. The slow cooker even has a chalkboard so you have no excuse for forgetting to follow the recipe.

8. Teddy bear double draught excluder

If you refuse to turn the heating on just yet, the Teddy Bear Double Draught Excluder will keep the cold out a little longer. It’s designed to suit any room with three colours to choose from and has gone down a treat with customers.

One wrote, “Excellent to block drafts. It’s made a big difference in keeping the room warm.” A second customer added: “Has a good weight to it so stays in place and has really helped with draughts this winter - would definitely buy again.”

9. Bakeware loaf pan

Frosty mornings call for baking and you don’t need to be a pro to get started. The Bakeware Loaf Pan can be used to bake brownies and layer cakes.

Now for the nitty-gritty: it’s non-stick, dishwasher-friendly, and is oven safe up to 220°C. If there’s anything that can make us look forward to winter - it’s cake.

10. Soft cotton waffle robe

The Cotton Waffle Robe will bring a little hotel luxury home. In three classic colours, the unisex design is made from soft cotton and available in a range of sizes.

According to rave reviews, the robe 'looks expensive' and is easy to machine wash. At £22, it's not a bad price either.
