Not drinking the recommended six to eight glasses a day is something a lot of us are guilty of.

But rather than having 1.5 to two litres of water, what about four?

That's exactly what YouTuber Pierre Dalati - known for taking 5g of creatine every day for a year, not masturbating for 12 months and trying 'miracle' lion’s mane mushrooms every day for a month - tried.

"Some do it to improve their health and hydration levels, while others do it to support weight loss or other fitness goals," the content creator explained.

"Personally, I've been drinking a gallon of water a day for a whole year.

"I started drinking a gallon of water a day mainly to stay hydrated, but I soon realised that other benefits came along with drinking a gallon of water day."

As well as an improvement in energy, sleep and clearer skin, there's a few surprising things he noticed 'aside from peeing like crazy'.

No more craves

Pierre said drinking 'a gallon of water a day' balanced his appetite so he 'wouldn't constantly be hungry throughout the day and be craving food'.

“I would be hungry to eat my meals but once I finish my meals I was satisfied I was good,” he shared in the video from December 2022.

“And so that helped me cut down and shed down fat. If you're constantly drinking water then you're filling your stomach with water which stunts your hunger essentially.

“If 20 minutes before a meal you drink a glass of water and then you eat your meal you'll find that you get full a lot quicker.

“When I eat my meal, I'm pretty much satisfied once I finish it, and I'm not craving for more.

“That was probably one of the biggest pros that I liked about it just cos, like I said, I was trying to cut down weight and so that helped me do so.”

Hidden gym benefit

Working out five to six times a week is tough, but that's exactly what Pierre's routine looked like at the time of filming.

He said drinking water made his whole body 'feel a lot better' because his muscle's weren't aching after the gym.

"You just overall feel better you perform better and you go about your day feeling like you can just conquer everything," the influencer, who posts 'self improvement' videos on YouTube, said.

Less aches overall

Pierre said he experiences 'less headaches and less aches overall' from drinking a gallon a day.

"I just know that when you stay hydrated that tends to happen," he added

"You won't have as many headaches, your whole body will feel a lot better."
