People stunned after man works out average amount of each Celebration you get in a tub

You surely want to know what you're buying in that tub

Whether your favourite tub of chocolates is Celebrations, Heroes or Quality Street (nobody ever picks Roses), it's likely that a tub of them will be put out over Christmas and slowly devoured by everyone passing by.

However, part of the deal is that, whichever tub you prefer, there will be some in there which you really don't like very much and are hoping somebody else eats.

Celebrations used to be all about the Galaxy Truffle until they were discontinued in a grave injustice that has yet to be rectified, and so the second best Celebration, Maltesers, shifted up to being the best.

While you might think Bounty is everyone's least favourite, a new survey of 4,000 Brits has indicated that the least favourite of the bunch is actually Mars.

Anyhow, given that you're buying a bit of a mix it might be helpful to know about how much of each one you're buying.

A bloke called Charlie Murphy decided he'd conduct a scientific experiment on the Celebrations tub by buying eight of them and figure out the averages.

He tipped all the contents out into a big pile and sifted the delicious chocolate into each tub by type, then counted each and every one.

The most scarce Celebration of all was the Galaxy Caramel, with just 48 of them across the eight tubs, meaning there were only six of them on average in a tub, and the plain Galaxy chocolate came out with the same numbers.

According to the recent survey, the Caramel is the third most popular celebration and the humble Galaxy chocolate was second favourite, so perhaps there ought to be more of them.

Next up was Twix, with 49 across the eight tubs so they were pretty much on the same level as the Caramel, but among the public, Twix is less popular as they're the sixth most liked Celebration.

Murphy counted 55 of the much loved and admired Maltesers, the nation's favourite Celebration, while there were 58 of the fifth favourite Bounty.

Mars might be the least favourite Celebration among Brits but the man counted a whopping 87 of them across the eight tubs and we're starting to get into the chocs which you'll see most of in a tub.

They were just edged out by Milky Way, coincidentally the second least favourite Celebration, with 88 of them from the eight tubs.

However, the most numerous of the whole bunch was Snickers with 89 across the eight tubs, and they're the nation's fourth favourite Celebration, so perhaps that's good news for you.

Does this seem like a fair distribution, or do you wish your tub contained different amounts this Christmas?
