In September 2021, Guinness released its Nitrosurge device to the masses.
The revolutionary product is designed for stout fans to experience the iconic two-part pour from the comfort of their own homes - rending it the perfect tool to utilise during frosty nights by the fire or on scorching sunny days manning the family barbecue.
Daragh Curran - a beloved YouTuber with a self-confessed ‘passion for pubs’, - also believes the appliance is a worthwhile present to splurge on ahead of the festive season after doing a blind taste test.
“I think [it’s] worth it, especially around Christmas time with group gatherings,” he told LADbible, adding: "It makes a significantly better pint than a regular can.”
The rechargeable pucks can be used around 100 times to craft the perfect pour, with a full charge lasting around eight hours.

By utilising ultrasonic technology, nitrogen in the Guinness Nitrosurge can is broken down, thus leaving you with a beautifully smooth, two-part pour every time.

How to serve the perfect Guinness using the Nitrosurge device?
It’s recommended before attaching the device to the top of your can, you make sure you’ve refrigerated your booze for at least 24 hours. You can purchase cans of Guinness here.
Once your can is significantly chilled, you line up the nozzle of the Nitrosurge with the can opening before firmly pressing down to begin the famed two-part pour.
Once you’re happy with the fit, simply press the power button. You’ll know you’ve done it right if the Guinness Harp begins to shine, indicating it’s time to party.
When the ‘precision ultrasonic transducer begins pulsing’ you should hold the Nitrosurge device horizontally to start pouring.
Your glass will initially be tilted to a 45-degree angle when you start pouring, but you should try to straighten this up as more of the dark liquid eases itself out of the device.
Curran advises that sometimes you really have to ‘topple it way past the angle to get it in’ - so don’t be too disheartened if your first pour isn’t going exactly as planned.
Once the Guinness glass is 2/3rds full, be sure to let the contents settle for 60 seconds before rounding off your pint into the signature, creamy domed head.
“The biggest advantage the Nitrosurge has over a regular Guinness can is you get that beautiful dome… over the top,” admitted Curran.
