For those of us who feel as though we physically can’t get through a day of work without one, the preferred choice of caffeine hit is sacred.

Perhaps you’re more classic and just opt for a good coffee. Maybe you’re more of a Diet Coke head. Or maybe you go for the energy drinks and Red Bull is your wake up juice of choice.

And rather than just grabbing a can off the shelf, some Red Bull drinkers are specifically looking for ones with a little blue dot underneath them.

A TikTok user baffled people when she shared her absolute must when it comes to picking up the energy drink.

They shared a clip of the blue dot at the bottom of the can, writing: “Yes I’m one of them girls who will look under every can of Red Bull at the shop till I find my little blue dot underneath. [Those] of you [who] don’t know get to know.”

But know what exactly?

Why do some Red Bull cans have blue dots on the bottom?

It’s all pretty cryptic as the caption just simply says: “Only my Red Bull lovers understand.”

Well, guess I’m definitely not a Red Bull lover then.

Luckily, the comments expanded the debate, as users claimed the dots indicate a different taste.

One even said there’s different dots out there too, writing: “Apparently the dots make them taste different, yellow is sour I think, red is sweeter idk about blue tho.”

What do the dots mean?

With another putting: “I personally think they just taste better with the dark blue dot and taste stronger. A lot of people I know have said the same.”

One speculated it means ‘higher caffeine’ or ‘more sugar’.

While others simply say it just means ‘nothing’ at all.

Some others had a slightly more business-like answer for the dots as they wrote: “Different production lines have different colour dots so they can distinguish which line it is made on.

"If there’s a problem they can trace it back.”

Others described an ‘ink-ID system’ with a ‘spray machine’ that marks the cans so the source can be identified.

There are some more slightly out there theories though, as a user wrote on X: “Look under the Red Bull cans for the small blue dot.

“Those cans will give you superhuman abilities via alien DNA.”

LADbible has contacted Red Bull for comment to see if there truly is a meaning behind these little blue dots.
