People swear £1.39 drink helps ‘combat sugar cravings’ and is the perfect 'coffee alternative'

Nothing hits harder than the 3pm slump, but Brits say they’ve found a solution to the problem - and it costs just £1.39.

Designed to give you a ‘natural energy boost’, the drink in question is a zero sugar and zero calories alternative to your favourite pop. Boasting a whopping 80mg of natural caffeine, it's a guaranteed pick-me-up - without the dreaded crash.

Its hero ingredient? Yerba mate. If you haven’t heard of it (us neither), it’s a natural leaf packed full of 24 essential vitamins, 15 amino acids, and more antioxidants than green tea - which we all know is good for you.

In fact, one scroll of the ingredients list and it looks pretty solid, with the likes of sparkling water, agave nectar, and green coffee bean extract high up top.

But can a sugar-free, calorie-free drink really hit the spot? Judging by customer reviews, it can indeed.

“Nice little kick without the calories,” one five-star review reads. “These drinks are perfect for the afternoon slump and a great alternative to coffee. With no calories or sugar, these drinks are definitely a win-win.”

A second customer echoed this, as they wrote: “I take ice-cold in the afternoon to beat the afternoon slump I usually get and it keeps me perked up for a few hours.”

A third added, “I’m trying to drink less coffee and this was a brilliant way to do this. I discovered this in a shop once and fell in love with the taste and the result. No jittery coffee feelings, but a boost of energy felt. My favourite is strawberry lime, it reminds me of some kind of ice lolly I used to have as a child.”

For some, the drinks have helped to curb sugar cravings too, due to the wide range of fruit flavours on offer. “These are a great alternative to unhealthy fizzy drinks and really hit the spot,” one shared. “They stop my cravings for other sweet drinks and give me a natural boost instead of coffee.” What more could you ask for?
