HYROX have declared they've unlocked 'the evolution of fitness travel' by holding their famous athletic event on a cruise ship, but not everyone's a fan of the idea.
If you don't know HYROX, it's an 8km run broken up into eight segments where after 1k run you also have to complete a workout station, though the event's reputation was somewhat sullied recently after a competitor pooed herself midway through and kept going.
While it's typically done indoors, HYROX decided to take things out to the sea and do the thing on a cruise ship, with a bunch of athletes boarding the boat at Palma de Mallorca on 21 October and making it back there four days later after stops at Marseille and Barcelona.
The passengers might have been a bit tired though, since this was a HYROX cruise and the itinerary of exercise events to get involved with started at 6am.

It's why some folks have branded the thing a 'nightmare' and made it clear they'd never want to get onto the boat or be involved in the lifestyle.
Plenty of people made not so subtle references to the aforementioned pooing incident, which had resulted in HYROX changing their rules so this sort of thing doesn't happen again.
Others said they wouldn't mind the exercise so much, but they couldn't stand 'listening to people drone on about HYROX for the duration of the cruise', and joked they were 'surprised the ship was able to carry everyone's massive egos'.
Plenty of others thought that starting the exercise itinerary at 6am was far too early for a cruise as it's meant to be a holiday, and suggested they'd be more up for it if they got a lie-in beforehand.
Among the reactions there was a pronounced divide between those who don't seem to be fans of HYROX and called it a 'nightmare', and the HYROX crowd themselves who said they 'would love this' and wanted to know when the next one was.
Really, that's the thing, if you're on board with HYROX this is your thing and if you're not then you wouldn't have any interest in a cruise ship where it's all HYROX.

Going by the videos shared of the cruise itself people seemed to be having a fine time and were fully aware of what they'd signed up for.
You would hope none of the passengers were the usual cruise ship clientele who'd mistakenly booked the wrong trip and were wondering why everyone was running around the deck so early in the morning or what time they'd start the karaoke.
Exercise experiences on board the ship were scheduled from 6am through to 8pm so for fitness fanatics there'd be plenty to get involved with.
As well as the workout sessions there were also drinks breaks and lessons on HYROX tactics where you could learn the 'champion's mindset'.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, but nobody's making you drink it.
