"Las Vegas is a city built on hopes, dreams and a little bit of crazy."

Well, that is exactly what two reality TV stars needed as they set a new Guinness World Record for the most casinos visited across a 24-hour period.

On September 25, Joel Strasser and Garrett Smith, two military veterans and best friends who appeared on season 35 of Amazing Race, partnered with Casino.org and set their sights on the previous record of 74.

The impressive benchmark was set by Kimo Ah Yun and Gary Meyer back in October 2017, and many assumed the feat would never be beaten, whether that was down to stamina, logistical difficulties or rules and regulations.

But the former members of the Idaho Army National Guard and Military Police Corps are not your average contestants. With a map of Southern Nevada to hand and bikes at the ready as their mode of transport, the duo set off on the Thursday before covering a total of 129.5 miles to not only set a new record but also obliterate the previous one set.

Despite Guinness World Records regulations stating that those attempting the record must gamble on a table game or electronic table game – instead of a slot machine – Strasser and Smith cruised to 115 different casinos in Sin City.

Speaking after the record was confirmed by adjudicator Michael Empric, Smith said: “First of all, we want to thank the sponsors, this is awesome!

“We had a big team that helped us. Thank you everyone for all your help!”

To which Strasser added: “This record was tough. We knew when we decided to undertake it, others had tried and failed.”

“We looked at it and said we are going to figure out a way to do this. It was so hard. Thank you so much, guys.”

In supporting Strasser and Smith on their unique challenge, Casino.org were able to shine a spotlight on the thrill of gaming while also incorporating the spirit of adventure that fuels Las Vegas, also known as the capital of entertainment, itself.

Supporting the duo on the endeavour and helping to write a new chapter in both Guinness World Record and gambling history, Casino.org reaffirmed its position as the leading online casino review site and helped promote the fun and stories that make the casino world unforgettable.
