A single mum has shared her experience of OnlyFans, after joining the site to make some extra cash.
While we often hear of the adult content creators who make thousands - if not millions - of pounds from signing up to the platform and sharing content, 36-year-old Emerald Barwise has spoken about what happens when it doesn't quite go to plan.
Emerald, who is a single mum to a 13-year-old girl, has explained that she joined OnlyFans to provide for her daughter, but has since taken a step back after admitting it wasn't what she thought it would be and didn't 'align' with who she is.

Explaining why she decided to join, Emerald told The Sun: “Without a man to rely on, I had to provide for my daughter myself.
“The stress of whether I’d be able to pay my bills and rent would keep me up at night. Unless you’ve been in our situation, don’t judge.
“And with so many people saying you didn’t have to do anything explicit to make good money, I believed it.
“So I signed up and was waiting for the big payday. But that wasn’t how it worked out for me.
“Some people think they can sign up, take a photo of their feet and earn thousands a month. But it isn’t that simple."

With thousands of followers on social media, Emerald was hopeful that making money from OnlyFans would be straightforward, but explained that the most she ever made in a month was £300.
“Since setting up an account, the most I ever made in a month was around £300 — and that was uploading full frontal naked content and messaging people every single day," she explained.
Emerald also explained that the daily stream of requests asking for explicit content was overwhelming, despite her outlining in her profile bio that she didn't offer that kind of content on the platform.
"It started to feel degrading," she added.
“It made me realise that while OnlyFans can be sold as an easy way to make money, the reality can be very different."
Ultimately, Emerald decided to leave the platform after revealing it didn't 'align' with her and adding that she wanted to stay true to herself.
“It just didn’t align with who I am. I’m proud of the work I do as a model and I’d rather stay true to that than compromise myself for more money," she added.
