A travel-loving couple have made the move to live their life at sea after suffering a devastating accident, crunching the numbers on how much they fork out for the unconventional set up.
Angelyn and Richard Burk decided to call it a day with their life on land to travel the open seas, a move which has helped the American pair save thousands of dollars.
It might sound hard to believe, but following an accident in 2013, they've decided that a life of travelling to various exotic locations around the world is the way to go, and can you blame them?

The pair have completely swerved the cost of living crisis that has hit in the past five years or so, while raking it in during their retirement years.
They've even claimed that they're saving a handsome £30,000 a year through their unconventional lifestyle choice.

Speaking to CNN, the happy couple explained that their belongings went up in flames back in 2013.
They added that prior to retiring, their cost of living stood at $75,000 (£55,000) annually, and they are now truly living the dream.

The Burks aren't the first to dream the idea up, but they may be one of the first to do so in these specific circumstances.
Angelyn explained that 'all of their things went up in flames in a moving truck' when the couple were looking to relocate 12 years ago.
She admitted this caused them to become minimalists, and they decided to live aboard a cruise ship for the foreseeable future.
Richard joked that 'it was a cruise or it was [Las] Vegas', which is a fair choice to make in that situation.
They both used to work and lived off one of their salaries while saving the other, before the horrific moving truck accident that forced them to re-think their living situation.

Angelyn explained: "We were always looking to cruises, because it kept calling to us.
"It's so easy. You just book a cruise and it takes you to different places."

This doesn't mean that it's all smooth-sailing for the pair though, who face challenges amid all the discounts and loyalty perks that they get for being frequent travellers.
For starters, doing laundry on board can cost up to $25 (£18) each time, though these minor hitches don't stop the couple from spending just $35,000 (£27,000) per year, a whopping $40,000 (£29,500) less than they used to.

Richard reiterated his wife's points, saying that they've 'proven they don't need a home base' after over a decade of being cruise nomads.
