Haven't booked your summer holiday yet? Well, how do you fancy jetting off to the ‘sunniest city’ in Europe just hours away from the UK for £15?

Not too shabby, eh!

Dubbed the ‘Miami of Europe’, you could be getting those precious days away in the sun for probably a lot cheaper than you might have first thought.

It has been named the sunniest destination you can travel to in the continent, and the even better news - it’s just hours away for us Brits.

To get to this dreamy location, you’ll be in there air for less than three hours.

You can currently fly to this destination from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, and Glasgow, all from £14.99 with Ryanair.

It is, of course, the city of Malaga, located at the very bottom of Spain.

Malaga's perfect weather

It gained its title of ‘sunniest city’ after researchers at Holidu revealed it has 280 hours of sunshine per month, and an average, respectable temperature of around 18.8 degrees.

Other Spanish destinations, including Alicante and Murcia, followed close behind with nearly exactly the same sunshine score.

However, their average temperatures were slightly lower than the winner.

The costs to get there

So now we know we can get our flight out there for an absolute steal, how much will an actual trip set us back?

Well, it depends on how much you have to spend.

Accomodation and spending in Malaga

A budget hotel in Malaga could cost you as little as £66 per night, whereas you could be looking at £200 per night for a five star resort.

A meal at an inexpensive restaurant might come to about £10 per person, whilst a three course meal at an average place will cost quite a bit more, at £42 per person.

However, there is one thing that’s a constant, and we know it’s going to tempt you if you weren’t already.

If you’re heading for a night out, you can always count on the average price of a pint being £2.40 - we love to see it.

Local transport at the end of the night back to your hotel costs about £1.40, so overall, drinks and transport are on the cheap side.

Of course, if you plan to travel during peak holiday times such as June, July and August, you might have to factor in a slightly different budget for hotels and flights.

Happy holidaying!
