The Halifax banking app is now completely shut down following the brand being phased out and closed down.
Halifax has been part of Lloyds since 2009, but earlier this year it was announced that they were going to roll it up for good and call time on the bank to be fully absorbed into Lloyds.
Customers have all been moved over from the bank named after the UK town, but if you were doing a lot of your banking online with the Halifax app you might be wondering what you need to do to hop over from the new defunct platform.
With the old app closed there are still a few folks who haven't moved over yet, but the process is simple for people who want to get back to managing their accounts and don't want to miss the important stuff.

They promise it's fairly easy to make the switch and shouldn't take too much of your time.

How to switch from the Halifax app to Lloyds
If you've not done the switcheroo yet then you should have an email containing the information, but if you don't want to dig that out then the process is fairly simple.
Ideally you'll have the latest version of the Halifax app, and you hop onto it where there should be an invite to go over to the Lloyds app instead.
Hit that option and it'll start the process to migrate your accounts and information over to Lloyds so you can get back on with online banking.
Lloyds has claimed 'you’ll be up and running with everything you need in around a minute', so it really shouldn't take up too much of your time to get on with it.
If you've forgotten your details than you should head to the 'Getting Online' section on the Halifax site to recover them and get them back for switching things.

Why it's important to switch apps
Simply put, the Halifax app doesn't work any longer.
You can't access your accounts and get important information about your money, which is now with Lloyds and not Halifax, so it also means that if you've decided to save the planet and go for paperless banking then you'll not get your statements.
Ideally you would want to know what's going on with your money, so if it only takes a minute to hop over and transfer banking apps it's well worth your time.
Halifax officially closed operations on their banking app at the end of last month (31 October) so if you don't make the switch you're stuck in the nether zone of cutting yourself off from being able to check your own finances.
