We probably write about/post about dogs on TheLADbible at least once a day. Why? Because they're fucking awesome, that's why.

This police officer found a genius way of returning lost dogs to their owners. He simply took selfies with them and waited for them to go inevitably viral. Well, to be fair, he probably didn't realise they were going to go viral at the time. But this is the Internet.

The officer in question is Officer Evan Lavigne of the Taunton Police Department.

He told The Huffington Post: "My intent was to make something for my friends and I on SnapChat that I thought was hilarious.

"Then I asked our department's Facebook page moderator if he would consider posting the photo to find the owners since after I got the know [the dog], I felt bad dropping him off and maybe never getting him back home."

But the real question is, did both of the dogs make it home? Were they reunited with their owners in a Homeward Bound-style fashion?!

Yes. They were. The police department confirmed that the first dog (the pitbull) was reunited fairly quickly. The second took a little longer, but after a quick scan of the Facebook comments its owner has commented thanking him for his services.
