This New Pool Let's You Swim And Fly At The Same Time

Going swimming in some places can have some breath-taking results - the Great Barrier Reef being one of them; likewise, the islands of Thailand can similarly conjure up stunning scenes.

But what about going for a dip with the swimming pool floor beneath you, the next you're dangling over an American city.

It would seem that some developers have upped their game when it comes to quirky ideas to sell apartments.

This one combines fear with luxury.

40 stories above the city of Houston, Texas, such a building exists. The sky pool at the Market Square Tower seemed the perfect place for developers to try this out.

But this video of a swimmer stepping over the edge of the building (totally safe, we may add) makes it clear that this pool is only for the brave.

If you've not got a head for heights, then keep to your local council baths. In fact, they're probably more dangerous with the amount of plasters floating around there.

For those who want a taste of the Rockstar lifestyle, then this is the perfect place to live the dream.

A report in the Houston Chronicle says that the pool, which extends 10feet (3m) away from the building, uses an 8-inch thick plexiglass bottom, meaning you can feel safe floating in virtual air while looking down on the street below.

Market Square Tower describes itself as 'a new level of luxury' has plenty to cater for. It has various levels dedicated to outrageous living.

These include: An outdoor kitchen and fire pit, games room, a poker suite, indoor basketball court, golf simulator, movie theatre, ballroom, and much more.

According to their website, a penthouse retails for $13,200 (around £10,500) although it's unclear if that's for a night, weekend, week, or year (although, let's be honest, it won't be the latter).

This is the impressive view from the top...
