Russell Crowe Responds To Being Body Shamed With One Simple Tweet

Perfect.

Russell Crowe has hit back at body shamers after a picture of the Hollywood star circulated around social media.

The Australian actor has been turned into a meme this week after he was pictured kicking a rugby ball about in the sun last weekend in Sydney. He was seen wearing a tank top and shorts, because, y'know, it's scorching Down Under.

That flew over the heads of sites like Page Six, who ran a story entitled 'Russell Crowe no longer looks like a Gladiator' below a featured image showing the difference between Crowe in the 2000 epic and the pictures taken of him last weekend.

The 52-year-old has now replied.

In response to a tweet mentioning how radio legend Howard Stern joked about Crowe's weight, he replied: "I can bench press young Howard... he cannot say the same..."

Stern had previously said he works hard 'to say thin and in shape'.

Twitter supported Crowe in their droves.

"I prefer your body type on a man any day of the week," one gushed.

Another quipped: "We treat you like chocolate. The more the better. Addictive!"

Chocolate? That's adoration if I ever saw it.
