A great many good films have lost credibility over the years with the introduction of a shitty sequel, so it can be both exciting and worrying in equal measure when you hear there's a follow up to one of your favourites on its way.
So often these second films are half-arsed rehashes, based around jokes, narratives and plot devices that went down well the first time around, but just come across as lazy and unambitious second time around. If you're looking for an example of this, look no further than the Hangover movies.
But according to actor TJ Miller, this is something we won't have to worry about when it comes to Deadpool 2 - he assures us this one sequel that'll be even funnier than the original.

"It's not going to be like Hangover 2," TJ said. "It's not going to be the same movie in a different location, for instance. It's got different stakes, different things happen - some pretty tragic, dark shit happens in the first part of the film, in the beginning, and the rest of the film is kind of dealing with that, so that's interesting.

TJ also confirmed that little has changed for his own character, adding: "Weasel remains just absolutely the most selfish individual on the face of the planet. This installment is going to be more Weasel-icious than ever before. I was crying so hard laughing that I dropped an iPad in a public restaurant when I was reading the script.
"As Ryan [Reynolds] and I were talking about, it's this great thing where we know the tone, we know the stakes, everybody's played these characters before - most importantly, we know the tone, we know how to hit it pitch perfect. So, I think it might actually be funnier than the first one. I'm really, really excited."
We, the general public, still have a while to wait until we get to find out if the second Deadpool will really live up to the reputation of its predecessor, as Deadpool 2 isn't due to hit the big screen until June next year.

Miller isn't the only star to have been singing the new scripts praises. Co-star Josh Brolin plays Cable - the popular comics character's first screen appearance - and he's suitably excited about the sequel too.

He said in an interview with Good Morning America: "There's a lot of stuff going on in Deadpool [2] that's very surprising and will be very satisfying when you see it.
"To me, it's even funnier than the first one. I read [the script], and I laughed harder than I've laughed in a very long time.
"Cable can be very funny. He can be a lot of different things, but he also can be very funny."
