Manchester Airport has been evacuated after a 'suspect package' was found.

The package was found outside the Terminal Two building, and the area was cordoned off according to the Manchester Evening News.

The package has reportedly 'tested positive twice' for a device.

Police officers have reportedly 'sealed off' the roundabout on the approach to Terminal Two.

Khawer Ishtiaq, who was on his way to pick up his brother from the airport, told the MEN: "I'm on the roof of the multi-storey car park opposite the departure lounge. We've been told to wait here.

"When I came to pick up my brother the airport staff wouldn't let anyone through into the arrivals lounge.

"The people leaving for flights have not been allowed to leave the departure lounge either. I tried to walk towards my car and a guy from the airport said to get away from the glass. He said they had found some kind of device and it's tested positive twice."

Planes are still reportedly taking off from Manchester Airport.

People on the scene have reportedly been told a bomb disposal team are on their way.

According to a Twitter user, everyone has been told to leave the baggage reclaim area outside the terminal building immediately and exit the airport, with some walking along the dual carriageway.
