Andy Murray has won gold in the men's tennis singles competition for the second Olympic games in a row after a four set epic that will go down as one of the best Olympic tennis matches ever.
Murray advanced to the finals after beating Japan's Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals and beat Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro in the final 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.

It was arguably one of the most entertaining tennis matches in living memory as the momentum swung from one player to the next almost game-by game.
While Del Potro constantly looked completely knackered, he showed incredible resilience to stem the Murray tide time and time again.
It may not be the biggest date in the tennis calendar but this gold medal match was worthy of any Grand Slam final.
Our commiserations go out to Del Potro who played some unbelievable tennis but just didn't have the engine to match Murray.

Last month Murray won his second Wimbledon title, and is now the first player to win two Olympic singles titles.
Go on, lad!
