Mark Zuckerberg fight footage emerges after ‘silent killer’ wins gold in first jiu-jitsu tournament

Mark Zuckerberg fight footage emerges after ‘silent killer’ wins gold in first jiu-jitsu tournament

The Facebook founder is apparently a dab hand at jiu-jitsu

Footage of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg competing in his first jiu-jitsu tournament has been uncovered after the billionaire tycoon revealed he'd won gold and silver medals.

You might not think it to look at him but the Meta CEO is now an award winning combatant, having announced the big news on his own personal Facebook account.

Alongside sharing pictures of himself competing in the tournament, he wrote, "Competed in my first jiu jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team. Thanks to Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu, and James Terry for training me!"

This might explain why his employees 'lovingly' gave him the nickname 'The Eye of Sauron' because if you called someone that in a non-loving way, they might get upset.

It might also lend some weight to Paddy the Baddy's challenge to get Zuckerberg in the ring for a fight now we know he can handle himself in.

Seeing Zuckerberg compete in a jiu-jitsu tournament won't be a surprise to those people who for whatever reason choose to follow his life quite closely.

Last year, he appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience to talk about his love for the sport, saying that his mother had made him do sport but 'my life took a wrong turn when I chose to do fencing competitively', which is just a mean thing to say about an absolutely wonderful sport like fencing.

Anyhow, the Facebook founder said there was 'something so primal' about jiu-jitsu that enticed him towards it and he's even managed to get some of his friends in on it.

The billionaire tech mogul credits the Covid-19 lockdown with giving him the chance to get into a new sport, saying he really got into watching UFC and MMA, but he also wanted to do it himself.

For Zuckerberg nothing comes close to jiu-jitsu, however, as he said it 'really is the best sport'.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Zuckerberg had a difficult moment after appearing to lose a bout before remonstrating with the referee after they thought he'd tried to tap out.

That match was later ruled to be a 0-0 draw, and since he walked away from the tournament with a gold and silver medal, he's clearly done well for himself.

The Facebook founder has apparently been dubbed 'the silent killer' by his trainers because he's the sort of person you wouldn't expect could put up a serious fight.

It just goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover, though we hope he doesn't start beating people up until they agree to give the metaverse a go.
