Girl Uses Tinder To Make Herself Some Money

Girl Uses Tinder To Make Herself Some Money

Beware of this.

We all look for quick ways of making a decent amount of cash now and again.

If you're out of work, or, like the majority of us, blow all your money in the week after payday, then you'll find yourself thinking of schemes to make some quick and easy money.

Setting up a lemonade stall is out of the question because none of us live in an American suburb and star in a mid-noughties rom-com. Becoming a stripper is a bit far off, too, simply because you have to maintain a certain weight and that means cutting out KFC.

However desperate those ideas may be, they're a lot more ethical than conning people out of money, really.

This girl decided she'd use Tinder as a way of making money, leading some people to label her a 'genius'.

Maggie Archer edited her bio so it said "send me $5, see what happens", in the hope that seedy guys will send her the money in exchange for nudes or whatever else they can get their hands on. In fairness, anyone stupid enough to send money to a stranger on a dating app probably deserves to be scammed.

On a few occasions Maggie got people asking what happens once they splash their cash, which she received via paypal.

Once the money dropped into her account she simply unmatched with the person meaning that they had no way of getting back in touch with her.

She told Buzzfeed News that a "surprising amount of men take the bait," claiming that up to 20 or so have sent her some dosh.

A number of people have followed suit, copying her tactics, to the same results.

On the contrary to hatching plans to gain money on the dating app, this geezer, called Jared, used his sense of humour to get dates.

He's gone for the ironically-cheeky-and-cocky-but-I'm-taking-the-piss-out-of-myself-so-it's-okay type approach.

A Twitter user called Natalia stumbled across the University of Florida student's Tinder profile, and ended up screenshotting and posting it, such was her amazement to his profile layout.

First things first, the opening line in his bio reads: "I call myself Jared, but you can call me tonight."

At this point you'd be excused for thinking he was a typical cocky bellend, but then you see his pictures.

A lot of time seems to have gone into constructing four pictures of him throwing a dart, it landing on 'your heart' and him looking mightily smug.

All in all it's a bit corny, but it's kind of worked.

Firstly, Natalia was taken aback so much that she felt the need to share it - Jared has his name out there. Secondly, after it began to go viral a bunch of people began to say that they'd swipe right, and some even copied him.

According to the Mirror Jared is still single, though his Twitter profile claims he's a 'genius, billionaire and playboy'.

He's left his messages open, so anyone can drop him a line. He's obviously expecting big things now that he's gone viral.
