​Is Bigfoot Holidaying In Greater Manchester?

Bigfoot, or Sasquatch as he's known in American folklore, is said to be a giant ape-like creature, which hangs about in the Rocky Mountains, leaving the occasional giant footprint to freak people out. But just because he's from the west coast of the States, it doesn't mean that he can't go on holiday, right?

Jim Salveson from Chorlton, Greater Manchester, was walking his dog Ruby in Kenworthy Wood when he found a giant footprint in the mud - complete with giant claws. And he's sure it's Bigfoot.

The freelance radio presenter said: "I've not seen anything like it before or since.It's clearly a bare footprint, which is weird in itself, with what appears to be claws. I shared the picture saying it might be Bigfoot or a yeti to be tongue-in-cheek. One of my friends said if it was Bigfoot he was rampaging through the woods looking for hummus - which is a very Chorlton thing to do."

It's not known what Bigfoot might eat - but if he is part monkey he's probably a vegetarian. Maybe he's even trying out clean eating. Jim thinks he could have been attracted to Chorlton because of the eco-friendly greengrocers and the hipster craft beer.

"If it is Bigfoot everyone in Chorlton is pretty friendly - I'd take him for a pint of craft ale."

The news that Bigfoot might be hanging out in hipster cafes in Manchester comes a few weeks after the elusive monster was spotted strolling around a wood in North Ireland.

Maxine Caulfield was walking her dogs in Slieveanorra, County Antrim in a haunted wood when her dogs felt a presence, and ran away from her.

The forty-nine year old mother-of-one said: "The dogs are normally full of energy and never stop running but when we went through that part of the forest the just stopped still and stared in the same direction.

"It was as if they knew something was there. I couldn't see anything at the time but when I got home and showed people the pictures it was spooky.I haven't got a clue what it is but when I saw it, it really freaked me out. It's not like anything I've ever seen before."

The scary photo is pretty eerie - it looks like Bigfoot could do with eating clean.
