The Story Of Sydney's 'Most Haunted Road' Is Enough To Keep You Awake At Night

If you love all things supernatural and a bit creepy, you might fancy heading over to Sydney.
Wakehurst Parkway is known as the most haunted road in the city, with many reported incidents taking place... after dark.
There's a particular part of the road (which connects Seaforth to Narrabeen and includes Deep Creek Reserve) that is particularly creepy. It may have something to do with the fact that Deep Creek Reserve is infamous for murders and body dumpings. Yikes.
According to Daily Telegraph, there's been loads of reports of windscreen wipers suddenly refusing to work, car doors locking by themselves and radios switching themselves on.
They say that there have also been reports of the 'green man' flashing at pedestrian crossings at 3am - despite the fact no one's there. Woah.
Some people believe that the area is haunted by two ghosts in particular: a nun who died on the road around 50 years ago and a young girl named Kelly who died in the 70s.
Legend has it that if you don't tell Kelly to 'get out' of your car, she'll run you off the road.
Psychic medium, Mary Loughland, claims to have seen Kelly on multiple occasions.
She explained: "The first time I took the road was about six years ago. It was about 2am, and I had the feeling of someone touching the back of my neck. It felt like a cool hand would on a cold day.
"She is like a white, veiled apparition of a girl in the back seat.
"I usually see her when I go past the C3 Church at Oxford Falls. Other times there'll be a buzz on the radio or the car doors will lock when I go down the road."
She added that her daughter had seen Kelly too: "My daughter Ellie used to drive down the road on her way back from work at Chatswood RSL. She has seen Kelly as well as an older woman in her car, who could be the nun."
But why is Kelly 'haunting' the road? She explained that too. Wow, she knows a lot.
"Most hauntings are in places where there has been tragedy. I feel Kelly is either lost or has a message to deliver. She is not an evil presence, but one that's traumatised. She is saying, 'I need a lift out of here'," she explained.
"Maybe she was trapped in the back seat when she died or was hitchhiking, and that's why she wants to get in to people's cars.".
