Most people don't know that Angelina Jolie has a very famous dad

People are only just realising who Angelina Jolie's dad is and that he's extremely famous.

There's nothing more that some Twitter users love to do than call out a nepotism baby, whether it be Gwyneth Paltrow after she said nepotism babies have to 'work twice as hard' or, now, Angelina Jolie.

Jolie may be known for her starring roles in The Tourist, Maleficent and Mr and Mrs Smith – where she met former partner and fellow actor Brad Pitt – but she is also now being recognised as the daughter of a very famous, Academy Award-winning actor.

Twitter users have recently been admitting their surprise after finding out that Jolie is the daughter of Holes actor Jon Voight.

One said: "Jon Voight is Angelina Jolie’s dad ? wtf."

"No but is there anyone in hollywood that isn’t a nepotism baby? why am i only just finding out that angelina jolie’s dad is jon voight?? (condolences to her for that btw) [sic]," another wrote.

A third commented: "WHY DID I JUST LEARN THAT ANGELINA JOLIE'S DAD IS JON VOIGHT?!?!? I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN THIS CLUELESS FOR 23 YEARS OH MY GOD."

Voight's acting career first took off in the late 1960s when he starred in Midnight Cowboy as Joe Buck.

He's also featured in films such as Deliverance (1972), Zoolander (2001) and even alongside his daughter in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001).

As well as acting for film, Voight has also starred in several television shows and theatrical productions, from Western drama series Gunsmoke to an Off-Broadway revival of A View From A Bridge.

As well as Jolie, Voight also has a son named James Haven, who shares the same mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, as Jolie. Haven is similarly an actor.

However, conversation surrounding Voight hasn't only picked up online because of many people's realisation that – because he's Jolie's father – she's subsequently a nepotism baby. In addition, Twitter users have also called out the conversation online surrounding Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney's mum in comparison to the lack of conversation surrounding Voight.

Sweeney spoke out in defence of her mum after she hosted a 'MAGA-inspired' birthday party. The Sweeney family was slammed online for their alleged political ties, specifically after someone was seen at the party wearing a 'blue lives matter' shirt.

Twitter users have since been quick to point out Voight's own controversial political ties – the actor having publicly spoken out in support for former president Donald Trump.

One Twitter user wrote: "If ya’ll are mad at Sydney, just wait until you find out about Angelina Jolie’s dad."

Another said: "People still cape for Woody Allen and Johnny Depp yet Sydney Sweeney is getting attacked over her families inconsequential politics? You ever ask Angelina Jolie about *her* dad's politics?"
