An incredibly simple video of a cat in a home has captured the world's attention.

Because the internet is a very deep, very wide place full of fun, whacky information and millions of hours of videos, there are tons of stuff that can go viral at any moment. The virality of a piece of content can fluctuate but it's usually the simple things that get people talking.

That couldn't be more applicable than with Gambino the cat and the video his owner chucked up on social media this week.

The footage shows the tabby running away from another cat inside the house before the owner catches up with it.

Gambino meows as the owner approaches but if you listen really carefully, it sounds a hell of a lot like the cat is saying 'Well, hi' in an accent reminiscent of the deep south in America.

People were understandably bowled over by this hilarious cat, even though it didn't do anything deliberately for fame and attention.

One person wrote: "I keep thinking about the cat that said 'well hi' in a southern accent I hope he's doing well."

Another added: "I would lay down my life for this tiny southern cat."

A third said: "I showed this video to my class of 2nd/3rd graders and they love it. We've been walking around all morning saying "Well, hi!" in our best cat voice."

Gambino's Instagram account now has more than 12,000 followers - all hoping that they'll be able to witness the next hilarious line to come out of its little mouth.

According to Fox News, the cat was a stray until 2014 when his current owners adopted him.
