Sheffield punters were left in disbelief when they stepped out of Spoons and spotted Johnny Depp, fresh off his high-profile Virginia court case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Watch below:

In a video shared by TikToker Morgan Anderson, the Pirates of the Caribbean star could be seen swarmed by fans outside Sheffield City Hall, where he performed that evening with musician Jeff Beck.

Excited fans could barely believe what they were seeing, with one person saying: “It’s not really Johnny Depp is it?”

Depp took to the stage that night with Beck, performing covers of Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing and Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On.

Depp is seeking $50 million (£38.2 million) in damages from Heard over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she penned.

While Heard did not mention the Edward Scissorhands actor by name, Depp argued that her claim of being 'a public figure representing domestic abuse' implied he was the alleged abuser.

On Friday (27 May), both teams made their closing arguments and the jury will spend this week deliberating.

The jury is preparing to continue deliberations in Depp's trial.

Heard is seeking $100 million in a countersuit filed after Depp claimed the accusations were false.

Depp made a second appearance at London's Royal Albert Hall yesterday (30 May), where he and Beck also performed their 2020 track Isolation, a cover of John Lennon’s 1970 song.

Footage from the event shows fans cheering and shouting Depp's name, and Beck revealing when introducing the star that they kept the actor's appearance quiet 'for obvious reasons'.

Angela Flannery, a Beck fan who was at the concert on Monday, told Sky News she was 'pretty shocked' to see Depp step on stage in London.

Flannery said: “I have always been a massive fan of his. My other half took me to this gig just to see Jeff Beck, I had no idea Johnny would be playing.

“It was brilliant, such a fantastic night in general… a special mention to the drummer girl, she was absolutely amazing [and] Johnny Depp smashed it. I'll die happy [that] I've been in the same room as him now.”

Today (31 May), the jury will continue to deliberate on both Depp’s defamation suit and Heard’s countersuit.

Jurors will determine whether each party will receive damages but may choose not to rule in favour of either party, or decide to reward them damages of a different amount to that they are seeking.

The jury’s decision will be based solely on evidence presented in court.
