Builder shares terrifying reason why you should always wear safety goggles

Builder shares terrifying reason why you should always wear safety goggles

This Aussie builder shared his incredibly close call on social media and people are floored.

An Aussie tradie has left social media users stunned after coming close to being killed by an angle grinder while at work.

Brad Morrison revealed on TikTok how his angle grinder's blade was split clean in two while on the job.

In the now viral video, he turned the camera on himself to show where the saw shard ended up and it's horrifying. Watch below:

Yep, it's embedded in his safety goggles and only millimetres away from his face.

The narrow miss surely would have been fatal or incredibly serious if it had made contact with his face and skull, as the sharp corner of the broken saw implement can be seen curving up towards his eye socket.

He captioned the video: "Always wear your safety glasses."

The video sent TikTok into overdrive, amassing nearly 6.5 million views and half a million likes in two days.

One TikTok user said: "This should be an advert."

The terrifying video was viewed more than six million times.

A second added: "[Those] small 1mm ones are lethal for breaking like that."

A third pointed out: "When I tell you he saw the blade of death I'm not joking he literally saw it."

One person pointed out his luck and told him to 'go and buy a lottery ticket'.

And try his luck he did, but not on TattsLotto.

Social media influencer and former Love Island Australia contestant Emily Ward also commented on the crazy clip.

"OH," the Melbourne-based model wrote.

And, you have to give this guy some credit for trying to use his luck for a chance at love.

He asked Ward: "After almost dying I now realise you miss all the shots you don’t take, dinner [Friday]?"

She did not respond.

Smooth move... but no dice on the date front, apparently.

Others, however, were less than impressed by the Aussie tradie's video.

Some accused him of staging the whole thing, with a few people asking if he even used the same bit of the broken saw to cut into the goggles before staging the fake stunt.

One user said: "They wouldn’t work like that. He clearly cut a hole in the glasses to put the broken blade in."

A second added alongside a laughing emoji: "The piece in the glasses doesn't match what's missing from the disc."

A third issued a warning to other users: "Please don't buy into this."

Another simply said: "Next on things that never happened."
