They say three is the magic number, and apparently, this even applies to your toilet activities too.

According to this pelvic floor expert, anyone wiping their a*se several times after going to the bathroom is asking for trouble - but don't worry, as she's got the perfect advice that should save your tush before it's too late.

Georgia Reupert-Allen, who co-cofounded the pelvic health wellness store Bien Australia, explained that although people think performing multiple wipes means they have made sure they're cleaned up properly, it's actually not the case.

And as an expert in women's health and pelvic floor physiotherapy, this woman knows what she's talking about.

Taking to TikTok, she explained that not only will wiping no more than three times save you a ton of toilet roll, but it will also prevent you from experiencing some pretty uncomfortable stuff.

So, it's supposedly a win-win.

Take a look at this:

In her viral video, Georgia said: "Do you wipe more than three times when you go for a poo? If so, listen up.

"When you are wiping more than two or three times, that is called faecal smearing.

"It is essentially when too much faecal matter stays at the entrance of the anus even after you have finished your poo."

Not exactly pleasant stuff, we know - but important all the same.

The pelvic floor specialist explained that hope is not lost for those who reckon three wipes is not enough either, as she has the perfect solution for you to reduce your current number.

Georgia continued: "A technique you can use to reduce the number of times you wipe is by squeezing your pelvic floor in a waterfall formation.

"So, start by squeezing the anus 20 percent, then 50 percent, 80 percent, and 100 percent so that you have squeezed it four times at the end of your poo," the expert explained.

"This can help close off the anus sphincter, which is the reason you are having little bits of stool hanging on the entrance - it is normally from weakness from that external sphincter."

But this isn't always the thing to blame, as Georgia explained it could be down to other health issues such as haemorrhoids, or any 'scar tissue around the anus', too.

If her trick doesn't work, she advised anyone watching to go and get checked out by a medical professional just to be on the safe side.

Although people were left a little grossed out, social media users praised Georgia for sharing the advice online and flooded the comment section with their thoughts.

One bravely admitted: "This is the content I’ve been looking for!"

A second wrote: "Oh my god that's so interesting."

A third joked: "My problem is I’m as hairy as Chewbacca. It’s like wiping peanut butter off a Persian rug."

While a fourth wrote: "Why did this have to come up when I am in the process of taking a sh*t?"

Obviously, you do you in the privacy of your own bathroom - but if you're consistently wiping more than thrice, maybe you should take Georgia's advice.
