Husband and wife both get tragically diagnosed with cancer just six months after getting married

Husband and wife both get tragically diagnosed with cancer just six months after getting married

Shane and Morgan should be enjoying their post-wedding glow but instead they've had to battle their own diagnoses.

A husband and wife should be enjoying their post-wedding glow, however they've been dealt tragic news.

Just six months after tying the knot, Shane Gray was told he had testicular cancer that had spread to his surrounding lymph nodes.

He had to undergo surgery along with 21 chemotherapy infusions to get him back to full health.

Thankfully for him, doctors said he was in remission four moths after his diagnosis.

Weeks later, Shane's wife, Morgan, discovered she also had a cancer battle to fight.

"Morgan went in for an appointment to get a breast examination," a GoFundMe for the couple states.

"While the initial thought was that everything was fine, an ultrasound and biopsy were performed to rule anything out.

"The finding was yet another blow to the Gray family: Morgan had triple negative breast cancer.

The fundraiser has been set up as they are facing humungous medical bills on top of just having had a wedding.

"After undergoing a double mastectomy and an egg retrieval procedure, Morgan recently began the first of her eight chemo infusions," the fundraiser says.

"While the prognosis for her cancer is good, given how early she detected it, the cost of both Shane and Morgan’s surgeries, chemo and IVF are starting to stack up."

More than $20,000 has so far been raised for the couple and they're hoping to get to $25,000.

The friend who set up the campaign has thanked people who can donate to the admirable cause.

"Between a wedding and two cancer diagnoses in less than a year, Morgan and Shane are endlessly grateful for any donation," they said.

People have sent messages of support to Shane and Morgan in the hopes they will reach their goal.

"I read your story and I am so sorry that you are dealing with so much. Hold each other tight and I pray that your life together will be filled with blessings," one said.

Another added: "Wishing you all the strength and courage."

A third wrote: "Morgan is so incredibly strong and perseverant, but any weight I can help take off of her shoulders, I am happy to! She’s not in this fight alone."
