A husband who claimed his wife stabbed herself 17 times has now been charged with her murder after a four-month investigation.
Kyle Long, 35, was arrested on Wednesday 4 March by police and charged with the alleged murder of his wife Rachel, who died in October 2025.
The mother-of-two was discovered with 17 sharp force injuries on October 23 in the couple's Ohio home, but evidence that came up in the police investigation quickly suggested otherwise.
Rachel had shown no suicidal thoughts in her messages to her friend, as they both discussed a potential outfit for the next night, while her body also showed a number of 'defensive' wounds which would have been impossible for her to administer herself.

Mr Long was also taken in for questioning by police and revealed that the pair had split, but it unknown how long they had been separated after 10 years of marriage which also led to two daughters.

The Ohio father had also claimed that he never called 911, yet his phone log suggested otherwise, as he placed two calls within four minutes of each other.
In one of the 911 calls, Long said: “My wife just stabbed herself. There’s no pulse, blood all over the place.”
He even suggested that he witnessed her supposed suicide, claiming that she stabbed herself entirely with her right hand, which again looks impossible considering the position of some of her wounds.
In a second round of questioning, Mr Long provided 'conflicting' answers that didn’t correlate with his initial statements and police were also able to find evidence inside his home which indicated a 'struggle between two individuals'.
That evidence also proved that Mr Long couldn't have seen his wife stabbing herself from the position he claimed to be sitting in.
Mrs Long had run a pet grooming service and was remembered for her passionate love of animals in her obituary.

It read: "A 2011 graduate of London High School, Rachel had owned and operated Pawfect Pups Grooming and Boarding in London.
"An animal lover at heart, she also was active in rescuing dogs. She was an avid reader and loved attending rock concerts."
Montgomery County Coroner’s Office later ruled her death as a homicide and an arrest warrant was later issued for Mr Long, in which he was accused of purposely causing the death of Rachel'.
He is now being held in prison on a $1.5 million bond and is yet to enter a plea, but his attorney Sam Shamansky continues to plead his client's innocence.
"He has continuously maintained he did not cause her death, and he maintains that today," said Shamansky, "it doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination, it's a horrible, tragic event, for which he bears no responsibility, only sorrow.
"It's horrible, it's a tragedy from every perspective. No matter how it turns out, there are going to be a lot of moving parts," he added.
