Cristiano Ronaldo given police caution after smashing phone out of hand of autistic boy

The police have given Cristiano Ronaldo a caution after he smacked the phone out of an autistic boy's hand.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a police caution for an incident last season in which he smacked a phone out of an autistic boy's hand.

The outburst from Ronaldo came after Manchester United's 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on 9 April.

Merseyside police issued a statement confirming that a 37-year-old man was issued with a caution.

They said: "We can confirm that a 37-year-old man voluntarily attended and was interviewed under caution in relation to an allegation of assault and criminal damage.

"The allegation relates to an incident following the Everton v Manchester United football match at Goodison Park on Saturday 9 April."

"The matter has been dealt with by way of conditional caution. The matter has now concluded."
