Death row killer's huge 29,000 calorie meal could be biggest ever recorded

Death row killer's huge 29,000 calorie meal could be biggest ever recorded

This death row murderer went big when it came to his final meal

What would you have for your last meal if you were on death row?

It's a classic hypothetical question that most of us won't ever have to consider seriously, thankfully.

But for one death row killer, his final meal of choice was a gut-busting extravaganza that carried a whopping 29,000 calories.

Go big or go home, right?

Gary Carl Simmons Jr may have the claim to the biggest death row meal ever.
Mississippi Department of Corrections

Gary Carl Simmons Jr was executed in 2012 at a Mississippi prison, where he had been jailed for the murder of Jeffrey Wolfe.

Named 'the Butcher', Simmons had been particularly brutal as he had dismembered Wolfe and fed him to alligators in 1996.

When it came to his time to die, Simmons went all out with his last meal request, in what may be the biggest death row meal of all time.

The meal spanned several dishes and was enough to feed multiple people.

It was reported that Simmons dined on the following: One Pizza Hut medium Super Supreme Deep Dish pizza, double portion, with mushrooms, onions, jalapeño peppers and pepperoni; pizza, regular portion, with three cheeses, olives, bell pepper, tomato, garlic and Italian sausage.

This was in addition to ten 8-oz. packs of Parmesan cheese, ten 8-oz. packs of ranch dressing, one family size pack of Doritos nacho cheese flavour, 8 oz. jalapeño nacho cheese; 4 oz. sliced jalapeños.

And to wash down this eye-watering amount of food?

Simmons treated himself to two large strawberry shakes and two 20-oz. cherry Cokes.

As sides he had one super-size order of McDonald's fries with extra ketchup and mayonnaise and finished off with two pints of strawberry ice cream.

I would say that I can't imagine how lousy he must have felt the next day, but given it was his last meal, he probably wasn't too concerned about stomach aches or heart burn.

Simmons was killed by lethal injection at 6pm on 20 June, 2012.

Reportedly, he had eaten half of his meal 90 minutes before his execution and had tried a 'bit of everything' except for the chips.

Whether or not he managed to finish off the rest of his feast is unknown.

Simmons' horrifc crime took place when Wolfe drove over Simmons' house to collect a drug debt.

After an argument broke, Simmons and his accomplice Timothy Milano had shot and killed Wolfe.

Simmons would then go on to tie up Wolfe's girlfriend and lock her away, during which period he would rape her.

At the time of his execution, Simmons was 49 years old.
