Dwayne Johnson says his mum has been involved in a horror car accident

Dwayne Johnson says his mum has been involved in a horror car accident

The Rock says she's okay and thanked first responders for staying on the phone with him and talking him through it.

Dwayne Johnson has revealed his mother, Ata, has been involved in a horror car accident.

The Rock posted a photo of a red Cadillac that looked fairly beaten up following the incident.

He wrote alongside the image: "Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night.

"She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated.

"This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head on collision with a drunk driver and attempted suicide.

"She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.

"Thank you LAPD & LAFD for being so caring & focused. Thanks for staying on phone and talking me thru it all.

"I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug ‘em hard, cos you never know when you’ll get that 3am call we never want to get."

It's unclear what caused the car accident.

People raced to the comments section to wish Ata a speedy recovery and hope the Johnson family is okay.

Johnson's father Rocky died in 2020 at the age of 75.

He died from a pulmonary embolism at the Florida home that Dwayne bought for him.

Rocky initially had a deep vein thrombosis in his leg, which caused a blood clot and resulted in the embolism.

Johnson was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and began wrestling in 1964, after which he went on to win the NWA television championship on two separate occasions.

Dwayne paid tribute to his dad when he passed away in a post on Instagram.

"I love you. You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world," he said.

"I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar.

" The boy you raised to always be proud of our cultures and proud of who and what I am.

"The boy you raised with the toughest of love.

The intense work. The hard hand. The adoring boy who wanted to know only your best qualities.

"Who then grew to become a man realizing you had other deep complex sides that needed to be held and understood."
