Diehard Elon Musk fans build bizarre 30ft GOAT monument to their hero

Diehard Elon Musk fans build bizarre 30ft GOAT monument to their hero

The massive tribute to the world's richest man features his head on an actual goat's body riding a rocket. Because of course.

Elon Musk has been honoured in what could possibly be the strangest way ever.

The world's richest man has been hailed as the GOAT, which usually stands for the Greatest Of All Time, by a group of fans.

The diehards have commissioned a wild piece of art with a bit of a twist.

They've created a bonkers statue that boasts a massive lookalike of the tech billionaire's head atop an actual goat riding a rocket.

Yep, you read that correctly. And it cost them a pretty penny too.

The odd piece of art is worth an estimated USD$600,000 (AUD$932,000, £528,000).

The bizarre statue was commissioned by cryptocurrency firm Elon GOAT Token ($EGT).

$EGT intends to present the tech guru with the statue at his Texan Tesla offices later this month.

Musk might be a genius and a bit of a financial cowboy, but he also has a quirky sense of humour.

So who knows? He may very well love it. That's what $EGT hopes for, anyway.

"Really we just want to meet the guy and give it to him," the group said.

"After all, he is the most innovative human alive, hence the GOAT - Greatest Of All Time."

They added: "Most people thought we would never do it, but after one year of building the time has come to bring it home to Elon."

$EGT revealed that the massive Musk monument was built in 'honour of his many accomplishments and commitment to cryptocurrency'.

It's on the back of a semi-trailer so, as an added bonus, Musk can take it with him wherever he goes.

The enormous aluminium head of the statue was built by Canadian metal sculptors Kevin and Michelle Stone.

Kevin revealed the couple spent more than 700 hours on creating the likeness of Twitter's new head honcho.

He told Maple Ridge News: "I’m pretty proud of it because it totally looks like him."

The head sits at a whopping 1.7 metres tall, so it stands higher than most people.

$EGT called on Musk to claim his 'historical gift' on November 26 at Tesla's headquarters in Austin.

"We're going to have fun for a few hours and then all the cars and trucks will hit the freeway behind the monument, destined for Tesla's Gigafactory," the group said.

Gigafactory Texas is Tesla's global headquarters. It is also the manufacturing hub in the United States for the Model Y and the Tesla Cybertruck.

Musk is yet to respond to the group's invitation... but we really hope he does.
