Fifth Best Theme Park In The World Is Not Even The Best In Devon

Fifth Best Theme Park In The World Is Not Even The Best In Devon

It has been called the fifth best theme park in the world but it might not even be the best in its area.

A UK theme park that was recently named the fifth best in the world is one you've probably never heard of.

According to Tripadvisor, only four other theme parks in the world can surpass The Milky Way Adventure Park in Devon.

You might think the UK's only entry into the top 10 theme parks in the world might have been Alton Towers or Thorpe Park, but apparently not.

Located in the south west of England, the Milky Way is more likely to offer fun for all the family than satisfy the dreams of the most ardent thrill seekers in the world.

Still, that's the one Tripadvisor says is the best theme park in the UK and bettered only by a handful of others.

Milky Way Adventure Park

However, some locals reckon it's not even the best theme park in Devon, let alone the UK or fifth best in the entire world.

One person argued it was 'barely the fifth best theme park' in the south west of England, also praising other Devon-based theme park The Big Sheep, which they thought had better rollercoasters (and also a farm).

Someone else slated it as 'not even top five in Devon or Cornwall', while it was argued that the Milky Way was barely even a theme park.

Milky Way also warned potential customers headed their way and looking for the thrill of a lifetime to be aware they were a family-oriented attraction and 'not a hotspot for thrill seekers'.

While they were 'incredibly proud' to rank so highly in the award, they didn't want to give people the wrong impression and end up disappointing anyone.

According to TripAdvisor, the top theme park in the world is apparently Siam Park, a water park in Tenerife, followed closely by historical theme park Puy du Fou in France.

Third on the list is Brazil's Beto Carrero World, set up by Brazilian businessman Beto Carrero, while fourth is Spain's version of Puy du Fou, though it's clearly not quite as good as the French one.

TripAdvisor said that for this year their awards should go towards places that gave people the best experiences.

With an aim towards providing fun for the whole family, this is likely why Milky Way has made it so high as it has something for everyone, rather than the UK's more daring theme parks which are more for the adrenaline junkies.

Meanwhile, TripAdvisor named taking a cruise down the canals of Amsterdam as the top thing you could go and do in the entire world.
