Many people have a fear of the ocean, and one content creator has probably added a few more to that list after revealing what goes on beneath the waves.
For reasons known only to himself, the determined creator dropped his GoPro into the depths of the sea.
They say that ignorance is bliss, but the photographer from Greece decided he simply had to know what was going on down there.
The ocean is not to be messed with. In recent weeks, it made headlines when a little girl fell overboard on a Disney Cruise, and while that had a fortunately happy ending, it could have been very different.

While the majority of our planet is covered in water, we actually still know little about what goes on there with only a small percentage of the sea having been explored.

Remember the delight followed by sadness about the anglerfish that surfaced?
Just think what else is down there, but much, much bigger.
Odysseas Froilan posted a YouTube video of what he captured when he dropped a GoPro from the side of a cruise ship back in 2021, and it's creepy to say the least.

As the camera sinks, it spins as it tumbles to the bottom of the ocean and captures fish swimming around it, before it comes to rest on the seabed next to the ship's anchor.
Various fish can be seen in shot but everything seems normal so far, until it switches to the footage caught at night.
It takes on a horror-film vibe as the night vision mode kicks in, and the darkness and not being able to see far ramps up the tension.
If Jaws left you traumatised, you might want to give this one a miss, as the camera captures several sharks swimming past.

One commenter replied about the juxtaposition, saying: “The way I went from kicking my feet in the air at the cute fishies and thinking ‘maybe the ocean isn’t so scary after all’ in the day footage to blankly staring, terrified, at the night footage, further confirming my intense fear of the ocean.”
Someone else added: “Man, there's something primally terrifying about seeing a shark emerge from the darkness like that.”
A third viewer confessed: “It's surreal, scary and intriguing, all at the same time!”
“Even though I am at home watching this, it still takes my breath away with fear,” agreed another.

One person made a very valid point, writing: “I would just like to point out the difference in marine life depending on the time of day.
“If you ever find yourself on a cruise, do not take a bet and jump into the ocean at night, most sharks are nocturnal hunters and they are basically just waiting for you.”
No, thank you - I think I'd prefer to stay on board the cruise ship.
