Groom pranks bride by smashing wedding cake in her face

People have been left divided over a video of a groom pieing his bride in the face with a piece of their wedding cake.

People have been left divided over a video of a groom pie-ing his bride in the face with a piece of their wedding cake.

Prepare to react one of two ways, in stitches of laughter or peering through your fingers in horror:

Unless a food fight is formally announced, there's no other instance where I would personally tolerate having a huge wad of cake smushed into my face - particularly if I'd spent hours on my makeup, was meant to be posing for pictures to show the grandkids one day and wearing an expensive wedding dress.

One groom however, decided there would be no better day to prank his partner than on their wedding day.

In the video - posted to TikTok by Marianna De Oliveira - the bride and groom can be seen having just cut the first slice of their wedding cake - a ceremonial and special moment often treasured at such a celebration.

The photographer is on hand, ready to get a lovely, memorable picture - the bride looking stunning in her pristine white wedding dress, expertly curled hair and flawless makeup.

The newly wedded couple put a bit of cake on their fingers, lifting them up for each other to have a small taste - a slightly sickening - but I guess you could call it rather lovely and romantic moment.

What could possibly go wrong?

Lulled into a false sense of security as she licks cake of her husband's finger, the groom seizes his opportunity.

His left hand - holding the rest of the slice - comes up and whips his wife round the face, smushing the cake into her hair and makeup.

The groom then makes a swift exit, running off the camera, leaving a shocked - but laughing? - bride behind.

He then comes back to let her smash some cake in his face - perhaps worried his marriage would last even less time than Kim K's if he didn't.

Viewers have since flocked to the video in heated debate over the gesture and whether or not the groom was in the wrong for his cake-smashing actions.

One user said: "Personally I would get divorced on the same day."

"Makeup, hair and self respect is too expensive for any man to do this on a wedding day with witnesses," another wrote.

A third commented: "He needs to grow up."

The groom was slammed by some TikTok users over the prank.

However, another argued the stunt wasn't as horrifying or 'disrespectful' as some claimed.

They said: "Bro she was laughing calm down."

And by the looks of Marianna's Instagram, the pair thankfully still appear happily married.

Saying that, no grooms should go getting any ideas.
