The man who had his proposal ruined by a Disneyland employee has finally spoken out about the viral - and very shocking - incident. Take a look at it unfold below:

Down on one knee and offering a ring to the love of his life at Disneyland Paris, it was all going so perfectly for one man's marriage proposal.

On stage in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle and with a gathered crowd cheering on the proposal, it really was building up to be the stuff of dreams.

That is, however, until a Disney employee ruined the whole thing by swooping in and snatching the ring from his hands before directing the soon-to-be happy couple to move along and redo their proposal somewhere else.

A video of the event quickly made its way onto Reddit and other social media platforms, where droves of people slated the Disney employee for spoiling the couple's big moment for seemingly very little reason at all.

The man, who gave his name only as Ante to protect his and his new fiancée's privacy, told the New York Times he had been planning to propose since Christmas when his fiancée gifted him tickets to Disneyland.

He explained that early in their relationship, he had given her a rose in a glass similar to the one which played a pivotal role in Disney film Beauty and the Beast.

Initially planning to pop the question at the evening fireworks show, the 31-year-old from Germany said he was 'too excited' to wait any longer and had asked another Disneyland employee for permission to go up on stage for his proposal.

After being ushered down from the stage by the Disney employee who snatched the engagement ring out of his hands, Ante wasn't sure whether his now-fiancée had even said 'yes' in the moment.

Afterwards, the couple made their way to a nearby bench where he put the ring on her finger and the couple watched back the video of their interrupted proposal.

Disneyland Paris have since offered an apology to the couple, with a statement from their headquarters in California admitting they regretted the way the situation had been handled.

Their statement read: "We have offered our sincere apologies to the couple concerned and we will do everything we can to make this up to them."

Ante said Disney had reached out to them and offered the couple a free weekend in a Disneyland park and hotel of their choosing to help make amends.

While he appreciated the apology, Ante and his fiancee decided to turn down the offer from Disney.

"Disneyland stands for dreams. Our moment was destroyed," he said.

"I don’t want to visit Disneyland any more. They can’t give us the moment back and that’s the only thing I want - to get a second chance."
