Christina Applegate has shared a devastating update on her health following her tragic MS diagnosis.
The Vacation actor confirmed back in 2021 that she was suffering from multiple sclerosis, while she was also left hospitalised and screaming in pain last year thanks to another illness.
Applegate has already made it clear that the debilitating disease has had a huge impact on her family life and in her latest update, the 54-year-old confirmed that things have progressed to the point where she now spends most of her time in bed.
While she isn't quite bed-bound, the American actor admits that she does struggle with daily tasks, despite being desperate to spend time with her teenage daughter.

Speaking to People, she said: “I want to take her; it’s my favourite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves.
"I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”

However, her diagnosis has allowed her to discover a newfound freedom and attitude to life, something she talks about regularly in her MeSsy podcast alongside friend and fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler (who also has MS).
She adds: “My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow. People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f*****g suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.”
Applegate has also published a new memoir You With the Sad Eyes, which focuses on her childhood, acting career, motherhood, and her health struggles with both breast cancer and MS.
“We all have come from somewhere, some places more painful than others, and it’s what you do with it, I guess,” says the actress. “This is not an inspirational book, by any means. But it can inspire.”

Last year, Applegate admitted that she's been hospitalised over 30 times with her illness, which can often leave her in 'unimaginable pain'.
The Anchorman star said: "Oh girl, let’s talk about that. "This is really important because for three years, since I was diagnosed, I've been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhoea and pain that is unimaginable.
"They've done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else. And literally, just in the last month, I have figured it out. Now maybe this isn't what's happening, but I'm just gonna tell you this.
"Talk to your doctor about motility issues, okay? Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs - not, like, completely, but it there is a slowing of the function of your organs, and I have noticed that - and I'm gonna be really honest - if I have to poop, I puke.
"And when I puke, I get all the pain, and then all the things happen."
