Diagnosed psychopath reveals five major signs to tell if someone has the condition

Diagnosed psychopath reveals five major signs to tell if someone has the condition

Diagnosed psychopath Vic Path has shared the five signs if someone is trying to hide the condition

A diagnosed psychopath has shared the five major signs on how to tell if your friend is one too.

Content creator Vic Path - who spreads awareness of antisocial personality disorder (APD) on her online platform - has revealed what we need to look out for in a psychopath.

Typically, psychopaths have a severe form of APD, which is characterised by impulsive, irresponsible and often criminal behaviour, according to the NHS.

In the UK, roughly eight percent of men and two percent of females in the criminal justice system have high levels of psychopathy, says Psychopathy Is' latest stats from 2020.

Meanwhile, it's important to keep a watchful eye on your close circle, says Vic, who has opened up about the five ways 'you can tell' in a video on her TikTok (@victhepath).

Sign #1

"Psychopaths are extremely manipulative people, so if there's a psychopath in your life, you're probably being manipulated in some way," Vic said.

"The first way to spot a psychopath is if you know somebody that's extremely charming, especially when they first meet somebody.

"If the first time you met them, you thought that they were the coolest person in the world, and you notice that every time they meet new people, new people seem to love them, but then over time, they kind of just seem normal to you, that could be a sign that they're a psychopath."

The second way to tell if you're mates with a psychopath is if 'you have a friend where everything good always happens to them'.

"This is because psychopaths are always manipulating everything around them to their benefit," the TikToker explains.

"They're always getting what they want in one way or another, and sometimes you may not even see how they have a hand in what good things happen to them but they always do have a hand in it."

Sign #3

If the person involved is struggling to maintain a friendship, this could be a sign.

Vic reckons: "If they always seem to be cycling through new people and they don't have any friendships from their childhood, then that's a very big red flag. Like I explained before, psychopaths have trouble maintaining long-term relationships because their charm tends to drop off over time, and especially because people tend to lose value to a psychopath over time, so they tend to drop people more."

Sign #4

If your friend 'likes to jump from relationship to relationship', then you need to watch out.

"Psychopaths get bored easily, so they like to fill their time with people, but psychopaths can't generate a true connection with the people that they're romantically linked to, so they tend to go from person to person very quickly," Vic said.

Sign #5

The last sign that's worth looking out for in your friend is if they know a lot about you 'but you don't really know a lot about them'.

Providing an example, Vic says: "You go to them when you need advice, but they'll never ask you for advice.

"It seems like they barely have any problems, and you never hear about anything going on in their life, and you don't know much about their past.

"Psychopaths like to collect information about the people around them, but they don't like to give out information about themselves because they understand how other people can manipulate them based on what kind of information they have.

"So a psychopath will be very secretive about their life or they'll lie a lot about their life.

"But they'll know everything about you and they'll be able to solve all of your problems."
