A shocking visualisation has revealed exactly what fat looks like inside the human body. Spoiler alert: it's not pretty.
You know the usual pointers from health experts, have a balanced diet, exercise, stay hydrated and sleep well.
But for many out there (myself included), it's difficult to stay on top of every area, with life and all that.

So, what happens if you completely let go on all fronts with no intention to lead a healthy lifestyle?
Well, when it comes to food especially, eating junk and too much of the wrong stuff can cause you to put on weight, gaining what's known as visceral body fat.
While you might have heard the term before, you may not have seen how it looks like, or how severe too much of it can be for your wellbeing.

YouTube channel Institute of Human Anatomy are known for covering a number of health topics, often with visuals, for viewers to better understand what they're talking about.

But while some social media content creators may use a simulation or fake equipment, this channel shows you what the deal is with the use of actual corpses, or cadavers.
So everything you see in the videos is 100 percent real, from the organs to the fat, as Jonathan, an actively practicing P.A. in urgent care, explains.
In a video titled 'How Your Body Burns Fat', viewers were treated to the sight of fat more or less covering the vital organs.
The health expert explained in the viral clip that while you may want thinner subcutaneous fat so that your muscles are more accentuated, doesn't mean that we shouldn't pay attention to visceral fat.

Pointing at the separate types of fat on show, which were all an odd yellow colour, he went on: "Visceral means pertaining to internal organs, so this would be the fat surrounding the organs."
Moving towards the thoracic cavity, which is where the heart and lungs would be, revealed that both were hidden, with the heart completely blocked by the visceral fat put on by the individual.

Calling it 'thick and fatty', the health expert said it was 'remarkable' when he saw just how much visceral fat was inside that body, with it completely hiding the heart.
On social media, some admitted that their view on health and wellbeing had changed, with one writing: "This visual clip is scary and equally awakening... Thanks"

Another added: "This just puts it into perspective how much harder the organs have to work with a lot of fat pushing on them from every direction."
Before even watching the video, a third user pointed out: "This is either going to make me change my life, or stress-eat a box of fruit snacks."
