Weight loss jabbers have a super-strength product coming their way imminently.
As things stand, the highest dose of Wegovy (manufactured by market leader Novo Nordisk) that UK customers can access is 2.4 milligrams, but a potent new variation is set to hit shelves within the next six weeks.
This updated jab, measuring in at 7.2 mg of semaglutide, can be taken once per week, simplifying its thrice per week predecessor.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved the weight-loss device after a trial period, at the request of Novo Nordisk.

Novo Nordisk UK's general manager Sebnem Avsar Tuna had this to say on the news: "The approval of this new single‑dose device provides an additional administration option for people in the UK who are prescribed the 7.2 mg once weekly maintenance dose of Wegovy. We welcome the MHRA's decision and will continue to work with healthcare professionals and partners to support its introduction in line with local prescribing arrangements."

The drug's clinical trial took in over 1,000 obese participants across 72 weeks, with those on the triple dose reporting losses of 20.7 per cent of their body weight on average, compared to 2.4 per cent on placebos.
A third of the trialists shed at least 25 per cent of their weight, although the experiment couldn't escape the common side effects of gastrointestinal issues, constipation and nausea.
The MHRA has confirmed that, as with any medicine, it'll continue to review the safety of Wegovy.
"Anyone who suspects they are having a side effect from this medicine are encouraged to talk to their doctor, pharmacist or nurse and report it directly to the Yellow Card scheme, either through the website or by searching the Google Play or Apple App stores for MHRA Yellow Card," their statement read.
Wegovy beginners dose in at 0.25 mg per week, gradually increasing this number every four weeks as required and prescribed. The maximum dose is 7.2 mg per week.

Over in the US, though, a miracle weight loss pill could be about to change the game entirely.
Known as Foundayo and created by pharmaceutical specialist Eli Lilly and Company, this product changed the life of clinical triallist Maggie Linton, who lost 60 pounds in two years while on it.
"It made a big difference almost immediately. I could see my weight, as well as the cholesterol and everything else, going down all at the same time," she told TODAY.
