People are just realising what a seriously NSFW scene was about in Horrid Henry

Our childhood innocence has gone

Many children’s shows include jokes just for adults – after all, if you’re going to have to sit through a cartoon with your child isn’t it better if you can enjoy it too?

However, people are now slowly beginning to realise that this jokes, like this one from Horrid Henry, are a lot more NSFW than they remember.

See if you can figure out the innuendo:

From a very questionable log to a 'strange' scene in Fireman Sam, it's surprising how many scenes in children's media can often be read differently.

And one TikToker was shocked when they saw this clip from the 2006 animated show, which is based off the beloved novel series.

The scene in question features Henry showing his friend, Rude Ralph, his favourite book on the way to school.

This scene in Horrid Henry is surprisingly NSFW.

“Look at this!” he tells his friend while whipping through the pages. The pair then launch into a fit of giggles.

“What’s he doing with that cucumber?” Ralph asks.

Henry tells him: “I don’t think you want to know”, before throwing his book under his arm and marching off.

The user then cut to a shot of their shocked face with text written over them, saying: “getting older is realising what they were looking at”.

They also added the caption: “Netflix I’m on to you.”

The pair giggle at the unseen image in the book.

Others couldn’t quite believe it either, with one user writing: “No way…. This was my childhood series.”

“My life is a lie,” said another.

“Bro just changed my whole perspective of Horrid Henry,” wrote someone else.

While another user said: “OMG I never realised before.”

Someone commented 'a tear fell from my eye' over their destroyed innocence about the show.

Another was horrified, writing in caps: “I watched this show with my father.”

Safe to say, they were pretty shocked.

But this isn’t the first time that innuendoes like this have been planted in children’s cartoons.

There’s a very X-rated moment in Shrek where Lord Farquaad asks his magic mirror to show him a picture of Princess Fiona while he’s reclining in bed.

And many eagle eyed viewers spotted a bulge beneath his sheets in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.

There’s also a scene in Toy Story 2 with Buzz getting excited at seeing Jessie as his wings shoot out and his lights start to flash.

Even Peppa Pig isn’t safe with its adult jokes, including sausages on the BBQ and Freddy Fox telling his dad that he had his 'dinner down the rabbit hole', which left a bunch of mums online giggling.

One even had her own conspiracy theory about Grandpa Dog and Granny Pig, saying: "I reckon Grandpa Dog & Granny Pig had a fling back in the day and that's why Grandpa Pig is so touchy."

And who says kids shows are just for kids?
